Cryogenic preservation, storage and dispatch of ECACC cell lines

Hear from ECACC scientists, cryostorage experts and distribution specialists about how ECACC cell lines are preserved, stored and transported globally from ECACC’s state of the art cryostorage facility in the UK.

Introducing AuthentiCell Testing Kits from ECACC

Authentication of cell lines is a fundamental part of good cell culture practice and ECACC’s new AuthentiCell testing kit is a quick, low cost and easy-to-use identity test for human cell lines. No need to extract DNA just pipette cells directly onto the FTA card provided and mail to our testing centre - no dry ice needed. The test itself includes the use of short tandem repeat (STR) loci as some of the most informative polymorphic markers in the human genome.

Introduction to the National Collection of Type Cultures (NCTC) Genomic Datasets

A Staphylococcus aureus Case Study." This video offers a concise exploration of NCTC's invaluable microbial collections and the fascinating genomics of Staphylococcus aureus. Whether you're a student, researcher, or simply curious about bacterial genomes, join us on this enlightening journey.

All NCTC bacterial cultures should be considered as potentially hazardous and should be opened by people who are trained in microbiological techniques and familiar with working in facilities with the containment requirements appropriate for the biosafety level of the cultures. Watch our video on how to safely open NCTC glass ampoules.
