Strain Data

Strain is pathogenic for humans. Principal route of infection is from mother to baby during labour and birth. In newborns it causes meningitis, septicaemia, pneumonia, and septic abortion. In adults it causes UTIs, endocarditis, arthritis, puerperal sepsis. Strain is also pathogenic for animals and can cause mastitis in cows.
