Cell Line Description

Adapted to culture from a spontaneous BALB/c mouse lymphoid tumour. Thought to be of B lymphocyte origin. Resistant to dextran sulphate. Produces isoenzyme and is capable of antibody-dependent lysis of sheep erythrocytes and tumour targets.

Subculture Routine

These cells behave as per an attached cell line hence split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm² ; 5% CO₂; 37°C. Detach cells by aspirating or gentle shaking.

Culture Medium

RPMI 1640 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
